@sin_nl7 Finally someone that agrees yoshi having an i13 ws punish isn't good for the game. Agree with most of these but f1+2 flipover isn't that bad given how much heat it burns on oki now. I'd like IND/MED to pause heat timer, Heat smash DGF +7, and deathcopter moves unblockable again
@ValosNZ Soz never actually saw this! I wouldn't want this change, as punishing things with flash is one of the best parts of the character and creates huge depth to explore. Do you think you'd mind flash interrupting your pressure if you were launching it on whiff almost every time?
To fix t8 Yoshi:
Significant whiff recovery frames added to flash
NSS/heat flash no combo just +14
NSS/heat f1+2 range reduced, steel pedal animation removed
NSS/KIN 2,1+2 tracking removed
No Heat/NSS properties for 1,1
HS no wall splat (universal), only +7 in DGF rather than +10

@xiKaiiZeRDaGOAT NSS flash has historically been the same as 1SS flash, but with a larger hitbox. It's incredibly strong defensively and will clip things 1ss won't. Relative to 1ss, even without a combo, it's stronger now than prev games because it heals him too so I don't see this as necessary
@cauchemarre_ Will have to agree to disagree then. One of the biggest problems with t8 right now is the number of canned mixup situations. Yoshi's heat smash on block is one of them, and I'd prefer if they opened up more counterplay given how strong it is on hit.
@cauchemarre_ I can see what you mean, but RA is designed to be high risk high coverage. If they use RA, DGF4 will kill if they're low enough. If opponent knows this, they can jab to beat your DGF4. You can then beat jab with another option. Cancel beats both. Isn't this more interesting?
@cauchemarre_ Yes it gives your opponent options while being a familiar situation. Your heat smash does huge damage, wall splats, tracks well, massive range, safer than most on whiff because of DGF, hits grounded randomly, big chip, and heals you. Why do you need an oppressive mixup on block?
I used to get hype watching yoshi players, but now a lot of what you see is the same stuff over and over. I know that's a general Tekken 8 problem, but it's most exaggerated with the top tiers. Nerfs will make the game more fun to watch, and less frustrating for the playerbase👊.
He'd likely also need a combo damage/wall carry nerf, but that's too hard for twitter. If they nerf him significantly and want to find his original identity, they could do some fun stuff like making MED/IND pause your heat timer, and making his helicopter moves unblockable again.
I know many Yoshi players will disagree, but he is currently stupid. I see a lot of (IMO) ugly playstyles based on transitioning to NSS and abusing broken moves. It's not fun to watch and makes me dislike the character who used to see success through creativity + mindgames
In heat, Yoshi could still combo from flash with HD b2,2.
1,1 is too hard to balance. You could make it unsafe, but that would kill non-heat 1,1. Best to just remove it.
I'd also accept:
- NSS FC df3 range reduced
- HD b2,2 no longer combos, just single hit (same for other i14s)
