@sheffielducu branch hv voted 94 - 0 to back the #PGRsAsStaff campaign, opposing the compulsory redundancies imposed by @DrJoGrady@UCU.
Members were also dismayed at the *4%* pay offer to @UniteUCU & called on UCU to engage in proper negotiations with staff ✊
UCU members: We need to keep resourcing the PGRs as Staff campaign at current staffing levels
UCU SMT still plans to reduce staffing for PGRs as Staff as the project apparently enters a new phase.

🚨It’s Horror Show after Horror Show, as management have tried to respond to the MAB. It’s been carnage at Exam Boards across the University and, unfortunately, the victims are mainly professional standards and academic rigour. Stories from across the University include:

First scabbed module marks coming in and they are absolutely inconsistent as expected. Students: map your marks against former assessments, check your feedback against criteria and complain that there are irregularities in the assessment process - ie not marked by module tutor.
We absolutely must have an immediate Branch Delegate Meeting.
If that means branches organising it themselves then we should do this.
We cannot let management undermine national bargaining and the dispute as a whole by picking off individual (& stronger) branches

BREAKING: we have found out that the University of Manchester is planning to offer a £500 voucher and a letter to future employers to any student who is unable to graduate due to the UCU's marking an assessment boycott
In 2021/22 we won on #casualisation banning zero hours contracts at #RCA creating Associate Lecturer roles. Now SMT are proposing an ideological restructure in the School of Design that means 19 fixed-term Associate Lecturers will not be renewed @defendthearts@ucu_solidarity
