Gukesh D leads 🇮🇳India to victory over 🇨🇳China!
After 3 draws everything was set to be decided on the top board.
After a complicated endgame with two knights against a rook, Gukesh maneuvered Wei Yi and secured a 2.5-1.5 victory for India!

Is he Gukesh or is he Houdini? D Gukesh churns out water from Stone - from an equal position, he grinds out an endgame from an equal position to defeat Wei Yi.
With this win, India scores a highly critical 2-1 win over China in the 7th round of the Chess Olympiad. What a fantastic win for Team India, and what a game by Gukesh!

Got blocked by Kramnik yesterday, so thought I would celebrate it by making this parody video :).
It is not perfect, but I spent way too many hours on it! I did entertain myself - so I hope I can also entertain you :).
If you are an Indian , this is the best time for you to get back behind the Indian chess players and root for them . The FIDE world cup is on , and after 5 rounds of knockouts. The quarterfinal is here , out of 8 players - 4 are indians. #FIDEWorldCup
I keep running into this duo during my walk! Despite having to face each other tomorrow in the quarterfinal of the #FIDEWorldCup, they still walk together this evening. What a friendship! 🤝
It's an extremely proud moment for Indian chess. Out of 8 players left at the @FIDE_chess World Cup 2023, four are Indians! A huge congratulations to @DGukesh, @viditchess, @rpragchess and @ArjunErigaisi for their amazing performance!
This is the first time ever in Indian chess history that more than 1 player has qualified to the quarter finals at the World Cup. Wishing all four of them the best for the remaining rounds in Baku.
For the Quarter Finals of the FIDE World Cup 2023 - these are the pairings:
1. Gukesh vs Magnus Carlsen
2. Vidit vs Nijat Abasov
3. Pragg vs Arjun Erigaisi
4. Caruana vs Dominguez
How many Indians do you think will reach the semi-finals?

Carlsen has clinched a spot in the #JuliusBaerGenerationCup quarterfinals, so all that's left to be determined (for him) tomorrow is who his first knockout-round opponent will be. Here's the possibilities sorted by likelihood.

Commenting over the last 3 years, I have realized that team championships are very successful in engaging the audience with chess. Perhaps like other sports, there should be a match between 2 countries & it must be linked to the @FIDE_chess calendar. @vishy64theking@EmilSutovsky
