Property tax relief is on the way to the Senate floor! It was a great day for taxpayers yesterday in the Committee on Local Government (and my first meeting as Vice Chair). SB 4 and SJR 2, which I joint authored, increase the homestead exemption for Texas homeowners from $100,000 to $140,000– and nearly 70% of homeowners will not pay school taxes with this important legislation.
