Palestinian poet Mosab Abu Toha is making an urgent appeal for help, reporting that his wife’s family and relatives are trapped under rubble in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza. Over 50 people are feared dead, and no ambulances are available for rescue.

Abu Toha is the founder of Gaza’s Edward Said Library—the only English-language library in the region—and is known for his acclaimed collection Things You May Find Hidden in My Ear (2022).

NEW: Hamas ‘Open to Any Deal or Ideas That Ends the Suffering’

Sami Abu Zuhri, a senior Hamas official, said today in a televised speech that the group is “open to any deal or ideas that ends the suffering of our people in Gaza and achieves a permanent ceasefire.” He emphasized that any agreement must include the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, an end to the blockade, unrestricted aid access, and a swap of hostages.

Abu Zuhri’s position does not signal a change in Hamas’s long-standing conditions. Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, however, continues to insist the war will only end with Hamas’s eradication.
