FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT OF A UNIVERSITY: Frances Elizbeth Willard was appointed to lead Evanston College for Ladies in Illinois in 1871. Evanston college later merged with Northwestern. Today only 30% of college presidents are women. 11 MLB teams & 4 NFL teams are owned by women.

FIRST WOMAN CEO OF A FORTUNE 500 COMPANY: Katherine Graham was the first female to lead a Fortune 500 Company in 1972. She was named CEO of he Washington Post Company. As of today, only 7.2% of the Fortune 500 CEO positions are held by women.
