Now last week's racing is behind us and we've had some time to recover, we'd like once more to thank @Chadbrewery for supporting us and helping to make #Eights18 the biggest Summer Eights Corpus has ever had! We had a great time and absolutely loved #theoxfordbeer they provided!
FINAL RESULTS for #Eights18:
- M4 +3
- M3 -4
- W3 -2
- M2 +4 to take #blades!
- W2 +6 to take #blades!
- W1 +0
- M1 +3 moving up to Div2!
Congratulations to everyone for a phenomenal week!
Very late update for Saturday: W1 rowed over one more time to solidly maintain their position, and M1 showed off with a bump on @bncbc right in front of the boat house, ending the week in Div2 for the first time since 1985! Congratulations to both crews!
And to start the day, @Keble_Rowing narrowly escape M3 after M4 mercilessly bumped them out, securing a successful end to M3's spoons campaign. W2 row over in a nail-biting chase, and M2 catch @StHughsBoatClub for a clean early bump!
Did you notice our sponsor when we bumped you? We've partnered with @Chadbrewery, so drop by the boat house today to pick up a pint of Boat Race lager on draught for just Β£3 - a price almost as refreshing as the beer!
Today's the big day! And that means lots of drinks in the sun (hang on...), which means lots of cups. To do our bit to fight back against plastic waste, we'll recycle ANY plastic cups dropped off in our boat house or left with our friendly barstaff outside! #recycle#eights18
Summary of #Eights18 day 3:
- M4 +1
- M3 -1 (being chased by M4 tomorrow...)
- W3 -1
- M2 +1
- W2 +1
- W1 +0
- M1 +0
We'll be back tomorrow for a final thrilling day of racing! Come on down to the boat house to cheer on our crews!
Very late update, but the last results of Friday's racing were row-overs for W1 and M1 - a very strong performance from both, with Emile coxing M1 beautifully through a very sticky situation to take them home to safety! Great performance from everyone!
M2 and W2 both bump! Meanwhile W1 had a bloody good run at catching Brasenose but despite a swipe they were unfortunately able to escape in the final few metres. Only M1 to go now!
