She knew it wouldn’t be so easy to lie and then distract her wife from said lie. But it was worth a shot.
“Stop questioning me. You’re going to ruin all my hard work.” It’s her turn to pout now.
Emma notices her wife’s tell tale lying face.
Emma pulls back after the kiss and raises her eyebrow.
“You’re lying, what kind of flowers then? What presents did I get you then?”
Regina has to resist the urge to bite her own bottom lip. She knows it’ll give away the truth — which is that she hasn’t been to the office today. She’s been too busy with their plans.
“I did. It was very sweet.” She leans forward for a kiss, fingers tucking under Emma’s chin.
“Oh, so your not an idiot— I am? Did you get the flowers and the cards and the presents I felt in your office?”
Emma bit her bottom lip, looking up at Regina with soft eyes.
There’s a hum and short nod of the head. She has reasons for not responding — ones that will only make sense after their evening begins.
“I didn’t want to give anything away, my Swan. I wanted every thing to be ready and perfect.”
There’s a shake of a head given. “I didn’t forget, darling. I’ve got an entire evening planned.”
And she does. That’s why Scarlett and Henry have already been dropped off with Snow.
“I was going to say you’re an idiot because you forgot what day it is today.” Emma looks at her wife.
She drops her bottom lip, wondering if her wife realises it’s their anniversary.
Regina is really trying not to laugh. She’s still feeling proud of herself for such a witty comeback. And Emma’s pouty is laughably cute.
“So, do you not want to finish your thoughts then?” There’s a loving kiss to the side of Emma’s head.
There’s a quiet laugh, followed by Regina coming to sit beside her wife. A hand dropping to the other woman’s lap.
“Oh come on, you walked right into that one dear.”
@emxmaswan Regina knew it was ridiculous. Dreams weren’t the same as reality. But it was hard to shake such a real and traumatic dream — especially once her mind started spiraling. All the bad things she’d done in the past, how Emma deserved more and better…
“I’m sorry.” She whispered.
@emxmaswan She’d been sleeping along side her wife. But something had her waking up, gasping for air and emotions swirling within her stomach. A hurricane of emotions that couldn’t be pushed aside.
“I had a dream..” She dropped her head, fingers fidgeting. “You’d divorced me and left…”
