City Police have arrested and charged 2 men, 19 ear old Donovan M. Fink JR of Cortland and 19 year old Devin Hines of Slaterville for their role in the abduction and intimidation of an 18 year old man who was witness to an Assault that Fink was involved in last week.

UPDATE! The projectile that struck a City School bus this morning is believed to have come from a pellet or BB gun. A small amount of glass shattered into the passenger compartment, however, it is believed that the actual projectile did not pass through the window.

Police are currently investigating a report of a Cortland City School bus having a window shot with a pellet or small caliber rifle. The round did penetrate and pass into the passenger compartment with students on board. There are no reported injuries.

New evidence was brought to light, that led to today's arrest of Christopher Gillette (35) listed as homeless. Gillette stands accused of strangling and raping a 36 year old woman at a Rickard Street residence in the Spring of 2015. He is now charged with Strangulation 2nd/ Rape

On Friday 10/04 at about 4:49 PM, City police stopped a car on Port Watson St. The car was being driven by Jalen Searight (23) of Syracuse. Searight did not have a license and was found in possession of over 1/2 ounce of crack cocaine.

Following weeks of investigation, City Police Investigators have arrested Jonah L. Lightaul (21) of 1172 Starr Road Cortland for his role in 3 separate Burglaries of student housing. The break-ins occurred at 2 residences on Lincoln Avenue and 1 residence on Woodruff Street.

City police have just charged Austin C. Falso (19) of 20 Peaceful Drive Cortland in connection with a string of reported burglaries and thefts that have occurred in areas of student housing over the past few weeks.
