Hello! There’s only so much I can do with this post, but I feel like I need to speak up about this as an artist in the LADS fandom.

Artists are being targeted more than ever, and many are leaving the fandom because of the harassment. Honestly, this place was already toxic two years ago, whether there were 4, 5, or even 6 LIs. It could always escalate to threats, doxxing, and mass harassment. All because you’re not homophobic or racist, and you draw what you want. It’s awful that a game can become a reason for this kind of behavior.

Artists are being silenced, pressured into not drawing what they want, or pushed out of the fandom entirely. People are forced to put up with this just to keep drawing the characters they love, fearing that their accounts will be mass-reported and years of their work will be wiped out.

Of course, there are also so many wonderful people in this fandom, and they’re the reason I’m still here. People who appreciate and love art, support artists, and share positivity.

So I’m reaching out to the reasonable side of this community. If you see this kind of bullying on Instagram or Twitter, please block and report these accounts. Be kind, and remember that we’re all human too.

Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of Super Smash Bros. and Kirby, is warning that AI could lead to a flood of unoriginal games.

Sakurai points out that Steam has gone from around 275 game releases a year in 2010 to more than 19,000 today

“AI can create games, but it can’t create something truly original.”

Sakurai also argues that originality means creating something players don’t even know they want yet.

He uses Fumito Ueda as an example, saying AI could imitate the style of games like ICO or Shadow of the Colossus, but it wouldn’t know what Ueda himself would create next.

Whether it’s a fanfic or legit, it’s just making me resent this whole situation even more. I just want the story as it was intended. I want to read about how they planned to expand the world. I want to meet this new MC and see how this impacts her story. I want to get to know Valko and his family.

I don’t know why that’s treated like some insane, morally wrong thing to want out of a visual novel-style game. Like sorry for actually just wanting to read the story. My bad for giving a fuck.
