I don't think I could be a pediatrician because I would want every kid to think I'm cool and I'm horrified by the possibility of being ridiculed by wisecracking adolescents who are way cooler than me
like this would legit be me as a pediatrician:
deciding if today's the day I finally decorate my apartment walls after a month of living here or if I just commit to a life of convincing myself that they look better blank (they don't)
Ohio Measles outbreak in 2022: only 5% of the Measles-infected children who were age-eligible for routine MMR vaccination had received an MMR dose. More than 40% of the kids had to be hospitalized. Vaccines are safe & effective so def get them plz & thx

Huge news! Curious to see the impact on our inpatient pediatric floors over the next few years.
But as always, such a shame to see cost $$$ be an issue. Pediatricians who serve our most vulnerable populations will inevitably feel the brunt of this smh

Congrats to everyone who matched today!!! Especially to my new #tweetiatrician friends! Can’t wait to meet the next batch of residents to welcome to the @Einstein_Peds fam! #Match2022
Today was my first day back on our inpatient peds rotation since the beginning of PGY-2 and I forgot how much I love hospital medicine ❤️ #PediatricHospitalMedicine
Wait… There are people who just say what’s on their mind immediately without thinking about if you should say it, what’s the best way to say it, when to say it, how saying it would impact others, role playing the 38 scenarios that could play out if you said it??? …psychos
It’s funny the reactions I got this morning after telling people I got 4 total hours of sleep on my 24hr PICU call shift. Medical people are like wow good shift you can have a normal post-call day now and non-medical people are like oh my god are you ok sweetie go get some rest
@iuls @DGlaucomflecken Ah no problem with that. I cringe when people refer to patients as “kiddo”. It’s usually non-peds people trying to sound “peds-y” and it can often be really dehumanizing
best thing about masks is that now I can never tell if someone I’m politely interacting with is just bad at smiling with their eyes or if my existence in that moment is a burden on their soul
