ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR A CREDIT CARD BILL AND A GREEK EMBASSY WAS THE COLLATERAL
Kimberly Guilfoyle. Don Jr's ex. Top 2020 fundraiser. Handed an ambassadorship to Greece like a party favor
Now she's out the door after allegedly shaking down a Trump donor for six figures to pay off her own personal debt in exchange for access to the administration
Private jets. Luxury hotels. Paid for by businessmen with interests in Greek construction deals she was apparently happy to promote from inside the embassy
This is not diplomacy. This is a woman with a State Department title running a side hustle in access-selling while taxpayers footed her security detail
Trump's response. Not an investigation. Not an apology to the American people. A brand new press secretary reading a two-sentence statement calling her "a wonderful asset"
A wonderful asset. That's the epitaph for an ambassador accused of monetizing her proximity to the President of the United States
Donald Trump installed her. Donald Trump protected her for weeks while the Wall Street Journal kept dropping reports. Donald Trump only cut her loose when the story got too loud to bury
This is what loyalty buys in this administration. Not qualifications. Not a background in diplomacy. A fast track to a taxpayer funded title you can quietly cash in on
And when you get caught, you don't get prosecuted, you get a graceful exit and a thank you note
Ambassadorships used to mean something. Under Trump they're a loyalty reward with a donor-funded side door
Every career foreign service officer who spent decades earning a post just watched a fundraiser skip the line, allegedly grift on the job, and walk away clean
This is the administration. Access is for sale. Loyalty is the currency. Accountability is a press release
And they are not going to stop
Crystal Lake. Verdict: Awesome.
Peacock. A24. The prequel that finally gives Pamela the room she always deserved. Linda Cardellini ramps the insanity and still leaves you room to feel for her and what she went through.
The backstory does the work. Grief first, then the knife. Jason is awesome even as a kid. Callum Vinson plays him like the lake already claimed him and the woods are just waiting for the mask. Crazy Ralph is amazing. Nick Cordileone turns the town drunk into the only man who already knows the ending and still shows up with a warning. Crazy Ralph.
The storytelling is good. The background explanation is better than I expected. I still prefer the Necronomicon angle from later in the franchise, but this version builds the mother and the boy before the legend takes over. It does not need the book. It just needs the lake and Argonaut. I stayed for Cardellini and the warning. The rest of the camp can keep the counsellors.
MapQuest now shows you Flock and other license plate reader cameras on your route

MapQuest, the original software to find your way from point A to point B, is taking on the surveillance state.
The free mapping service unveiled a new feature in its mobile app on Thursday that lets users turn on a "surveillance layer" to locate known automated license plate readers, or ALPRs, along their route.
MapQuest says the app can identify cameras developed by Flock Safety, Axon Enterprise, Motorola Solutions, and PlateSmart, among others.
"The Roads Have Eyes!" the company said in its BlueSky post announcing the new feature.
GOP Rep. Don Bacon (NE) announced today that he and other GOP lawmakers WILL block Trump's lame-duck priorities, INCLUDING supplemental funding and reconciliation, due to his pausing of Russia sanctions, propping up Russia's economy, and betraying a democratic ally. Good for him!
