Dear Charles, since you are talking about double standards, let me remind you that Turkey invaded Cyprus in 1974, and still occupies European territory, 🇨🇾🇪🇺
@thsottiaux Way better at explaining things more succinctly when I get lost in the codebase. Will pause and ask questions when it’s uncertain of how to proceed. Will actually attempt to change pytests instead of changing back code to match pytests.
@wesstreeting This isn’t a good offer. You’ve “created” thousands of training posts by rebadging existing trust-grade jobs with no new funding. If this was genuinely about improving training, why wasn’t it done on day one, and why won’t you do it regardless of our ballot?
Doctors are underpaid & face unreasonable difficulties to become the consultants and GPs we need
Govt acknowledge both, enter talks with Drs
After >2 months of talks, no proposal to show from Govt
Drs frustrated pace too slow, call for action
Govt threat to go even slower

mRNA vaccines are vaccines
mRNA vaccines are not gene therapy
Covid 19 vaccines saved millions of lives
HPV vaccine prevents cancer

How can people see there is a bottle neck of UK medical students in this country vs training places, and still they’re recruiting from outside the UK for CHEAPER doctors. And think it’s controversial to point that out?
High dose vitamin C causes kidney stones. If you are not deficient in vitamin C (scurvy), there is little additional benefit to taking MORE. Best source are fruits which balance vit C with naturally occurring citrate (which is a kidney stone inhibitor)
@m4ggiesimpson@UKGastroDr Imagine you take finals, you pass, you go on into FY1, pass ARCP with flying colours. You're halfway through FY2 and your med school emails you to say you actually failed and you cannot work anymore unless you re-take finals within 6 weeks time. What would you do?
I prescribe ivermectin more than most doctors.
Because I am an infectious diseases specialist so I use it for a range of parasitic infections in patients referred to me.
I never use it to treat cancer because a) I'm not an oncologist and b) it doesn't treat cancer
The NHS spends Russia’s entire military budget once every 150 days.
If the NHS was a military, it would have the 3rd highest budget in the world, only surpassed by the US and China.
Spare a minute for the U.K medical graduate.
-Managed to get onto an incredibly competitive degree.
-5/6 intense years study
-Saddled with crippling student debt
-Randomly allocated jobs at graduation, with no control or agency
-End up separated from support networks

Feeling pretty betrayed by the BMA this evening. It’s been made pretty clear this deal was nowhere near good enough and further strikes in the future will be needed to reach Full Pay Restoration. The @TheBMA has gaslit doctors into thinking there cannot be a better offer.
Locked in?!
Trying hard but can’t escape archaic bleep systems, computers that don’t load, hospital systems that don’t talk to each other, inefficient rotations, paper and pen, sitting on bins, sleeping on floors, bureaucratic process after process
Of course we want reform

The British Medical Association says the Government has wasted £3,000,000,000 on junior doctor strikes — more than double the cost of settling their whole claim.
Failure to negotiate is costly.
@tapas321@BMA_James_Steen Here is the data from Full Fact if you follow their link. There is no such thing as an average junior doctor so you cannot average the salaries into £44.5k. Huge mistake from them. The dispute with gvmt is about basic pay and not the extras.
