We need more holistic, ecologically relevant studies to
- uncover how prey species adapt (or fail to) in increasingly turbid water, and
- reveal the impacts of reduced predation from apex predators (piscivorous🐟), in light of turbidity-tolerant species & multiple env stressors.

This review confirms strong biases in the research: Most studies focus on commercially/scientifically important species in temperate zones, leaving gaps in understanding turbidity effects on diverse freshwater ecosystems globally.

And BIG Thank You to the lovely ppl at Hacienda Jacana in Talparo, who looked after us in 2022 (go stay with them if you visit the island!).
And to all the welcoming Trinidadians who offered us fruit, drinks, help and a good chat while sampling 🙌
Finally, I'd like to thank @RenoirJAuguste & @DungeonsandBas for their help with the pilot field-work in 2020 as the covid-19 pandemic broke out, follow that adventure here https://t.co/lLteXGYji7
