Progress: 80% of #Mistborn is complete, and a Skyward TV series was announced!

Mistborn Screenplay UPDATE:

There is no percentage movement this week as Brandon is still in London.

However, Brandon has announced that he will be sending his Treatment to Apple in a couple of weeks and perhaps even a few pages!

While not Cosmere-related, @DEADLINE has announced that Brandon's sci-fi series Skyward will be adapted into a TV series!

Brandon will write the pilot script and will be joined by TV writer-producers Maurissa Tancharoen & Jed Whedon.

The script is now 80% complete!

Brandon announced that progress will stall for a few weeks as he will be in London.

Earlier this week, on a spoiler-heavy episode of Intentionally Blank focused on the sci-fi series Murderbot, Brandon Sanderson confirmed that one of the TV executives from the Murderbot series will also be working on the upcoming Stormlight show!

This is excellent news!

Brandon confirmed that once the Mistborn screenplay is fully finished and revised, his next project will be writing the Stormlight Archive TV series pilot and full first season!

He will have co-writers, though he’ll personally handle a "decent chunk" of the script.

Since then, Brandon has completed over 70% of the first draft of the #Mistborn script, detailed his process, ideas for adapting Allomancy, the Crew, and more!

@marijosequezada They will all exist. Some will be the background for the first film and will be expanded on in subsequent films.

Brandon said at JordonCon 2026 that the first #Mistborn film may cut elements like Copperclouds and Seekers to simplify the number of powers.

As a result, Clubs likely won’t be a main character, but we can still expect to see him onscreen.
