Mellow fellow. 👁 impaired. Chronic illness keepin’ me down. 5 years housebound. Getting by with my bonny pup, Brawn. #BlackSails #TerryPratchett #Shakespeare

July 1st, 2022 update. In which I continue my one-boy production of “Waiting for Godot”, but staged in a doctor’s office.

10/24 was my birthday. I don’t really celebrate anymore, especially since there’s not much I can do with how sick I am, but I wanted to mark the occasion with something important. I voted. Kamala Harris for President, Flo Cofer for Mayor. This is my birthday wish. Make it so.💫

@KarenMHJ I would very much like a break from this body. Yes, please. An amicable separation. Seriously though, even the skunks have now tested positive for rabies. It’s a pressure cooker of stress.

[Capitn Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

These are careful steps. A soft hello. 🌱 It’s taken months and months and months for me to feel capable of reaching out. Every day/night requires a marathon effort to keep my body functioning, and after 5 years… I’m not myself anymore, but I also don’t want to be alone. 🙏

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@KarenMHJ I know. Honestly, I can find the macabre humor in this summer of unfortunate events, but the healing has been microscopically slow… my body just can’t recovery lost ground. Everything is 24/7.

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@rawrsa Oh, brilliant! I’ll log into Instagram later today and check out your new work. 🧶

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@rawrsa Oh, but that’s just as fab! Honestly. Do you have a photo collection of your creations on instagram or elsewhere? I’d love to see what you’ve made.

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@KarenMHJ My god you’ve been patient with me! Sainted. It took a back-to-back kidney stone, bladder infection, ear/jaw infection, getting skunked in the face and then a nasty flu… then a glass of wine… to finally say, “I’m too sick to care about social anxiety. I just want my friends.”

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@rawrsa Farah! 😄 Ah, It’s brilliant to hear from you again. Thank you for sending such sweetness. I hope you’re doing alright. Have you been continuing to draw?

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@fallofasparrow 🐇 I’ve been tellin’ myself I’m enough as I am, even with all that’s out of joint. That I can reach out and there’ll be kindness and creativity to be shared… and I’ll buoy myself along with it.

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@jacqueline_who I’m sitting here tightly hugging a pillow… Thank you for saying what I needed to hear today.❤️ I’m struggling to communicate well, but I feel like all I want and need right now is gentle friendship. I keep telling myself, reach out! Don’t hide anymore.

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@rawrsa Aw! I’m sending you my email right now. Unfortunately, my tea adventures are on pause till my body weight/health stabilizes. I’m waaaaay too sensitive to caffeine right now + all the decaf teas I’ve tried have been tasteless.🙁 I should probably do herbals, but I really want tea!

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

‘Ello my sweet scallywags! Prolonged ill health has meant I’ve not been active on social media since 2019…but I don’t want to loose contact with my friends here. As Twitter implodes, and if you want a way to keep in touch, please DM me and I’ll happily pass along my email.✌️

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

I do still have an instagram account. I rarely log in, but at least it’s stable: https://t.co/fAETmVKUZN

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@mantoLDN Yes! Something joyful I can look forward to! 🥰 I really need that. For awhile I was actually too ill for my daily teatime (low weight increases caffeine sensitivity)… and that was just tragic. It’s actually far better that you waited to send the package.✌️

In time, all things come to an end, but in the immortal words of Terry Pratchett’s Granny Weatherwax, “I ATE'NT DEAD”. 🎂🎉💀

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@flintsponytail Total fanboy. I picked up the Discworld books as a teenager. I’ve had the audios on loop since I became housebound in 2019 (god I miss the outside world).Terry Pratchett is like my fairy godfather.

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@KarenMHJ A perfect gif. I think it ended up being more Brawn’s birthday than mine. I gave him the full bath and groom and then crashed for two days afterward. He needed it, but boy was it all kinds of exhausting. 🫠

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@frostytrickster Thank you, Jade! I hope you and Jess are doing alright. I miss you both so much.

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@CarolGo25844865 That’s a lovely message, thank you! It was a day of clearing out and cleaning up. My body buckled after finishing the chores, but it mentally felt good. It was needed.

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@milchie Ah, bless you! Hopefully next year there’ll be significant changes to Medicaid and I’ll be accepted for further diagnostic work. The nerve damage is progressing very, very slowly, but holy shit it’s leaving me a mess… but here I am, still kickin’.😉

[Capitán Cóz 🏴‍☠️❤️🫖 @CosmicCoz]

@TeaRose1536 I miss you loads.🙁 I feel like I need a standing ovation for dragging this body through another year. I’m peak levels of rage that all my requests for referrals/diagnostic work have been met with… “Oops, sorry, no doctors accepting Medicaid. Try again later”. Write that on my💀
