@pain44918298@Pirat_Nation CCBill has been around since 1998 and are pretty much the only payment processor that most of the adult entertainment industry trusts.
The fact that people haven't started an adults-only PC platform specifically with CCBill in mind is nuts to me.
A small Japanese game maker called Mousou no Mayu cannot receive money from Steam for the all-ages version of their game Hustle Battle Card Gamers.
The bank Daishi Hokuetsu Bank stopped payments from other countries after reviewing the anime-style pictures and claiming some characters look like children, even though the game has no adult content.
The bank also warned it may block funds from Japanese sites like DLsite and FANZA but gave the game maker a short grace period, so the maker now plans to change banks.
This is happening more often with Japanese banks and small game makers as banks block payments based on their own views of game content.
AI robot companions might be coming sooner than expected...
This is from Aheadform Origin.
Their robotic heads are the most realistic-looking moving heads by a huge margin compared to previous models. Initially, I doubted its veracity, thinking that it was yet another AI video, but it is a real product with female and male heads available. It has a lot of micro motors embedded inside the head with actual cameras for eyes that allow the robot to have relatively natural-looking movements and gaze.
It's still very much in the Uncanny Valley level of face robotics, but it's getting pretty close... like scary close. Then the question is, how soon will it be until it gets integrated into a full robot body with a similar kind of tech, micromotors for every little micromovement that give it that natural look and feel?
I also don't think our society is ready for a mass production of companion robots... and it's going to cause all kinds of social problems, where our gender divide is going to grow even wider.
Male robots that are endlessly affirming human women's delusions... female robots enabling every fantasy for the human man. Usage patterns for LLM chatbots split by gender bear this out.
I have no freaking idea how all of this is going to pan out, and I bet none of our scifi fiction comes close to predicting it. Not Blade Runner, not Ghost in the Shell, not Cyberpunk, not Detroit become Human, not even Philip K. Dick novels...
None of them dealt with the everyday banality of billions of people forming emotional bonds with robots that never have bad days, never age, the perfectly algorithmically optimized fit for the client.
It's gonna be like the AI art backlash. Quiet until boom... once it gets good enough, it threatens real relationships, and the real drama and freakout start happening.
Now, didn't Elon Musk promise robot cat girls?
France lost 18M private citizen Digital IDs to hackers.
They got biometric passports, national ID cards and driver’s licenses.
Today the King of England announced a sweeping Digital ID initiative.
All this means is that hackers will breach it all and over time, have it all.
Age verification has the same problems.
Your data is secured by the gov's lowest bidder.
The age of privacy is over and there is no way to secure any of this. It's a matter of when, not if.
@GreenTextRepost A couple of years ago I started to experience what I would call "live service fatigue" and shifted to almost exclusively playing single player games
Sisyphus pushing a rock up a hill was supposed to be divine punishment, not something you bought a battlepass for
@freedomcaucus@RepFine I don't give a f*** about them spying on congressmen and senators. You guys write and pass the laws, if you get spied on it's your own damn fault.
If you could just leave the rest of us out of this, that would be great.
