A tragedy the final movement was censored by the Soviets, blown away by the original after hearing it modified for years. So urgent and beautiful, the news of triumph. Lyatoshynsky sure loved his bells. Not to take away from the other movements either, just an incredible work

I loved Mercurial World and was pretty disappointed that Imaginal Disk didn't repeat the magic. For some positive examples - the bass on that's my floor is pretty awesome. The pre-chorus on tunnel vision is incredible then it shoots itself in the foot with the half time chorus

Can't say I hate it but the bones for a lot of the songs feel stock, the small stuff like riffs, mixing, layering, harmonies don't feel memorable. This combined with maximalist, explosive song endings makes the album feel unjustified, people calling it euphoric when it's just ok
