What is your reasoning for not giving the marmoush sot and save? You can’t be assuming the shot wasn’t on target when it got saved and no idea if the ball was on target, it was a clear attempt and not a pass
@OptaJoe@OptaJoe
By definition a save is keeper preventing a goal with any part of his body(his foot). The shot was also a deliberate attempt on goal as no team mates were nearby, and went out for a corner from the save.
That’s 3 ticked criteria for a save.
@OptaJoe@OptaSTATS marmoush sot that hasn’t been given???
A shot can either be;
On target
Off target
Blocked
It wasn’t blocked, it wasn’t off target as the keeper saved it and went for a corner. So it must be on target. Where is your response to the punters
@Kimsiito@OptaAnalyst Has opta ever gone back and altered a stat in this scenario to give us the SOT? It’s so obviously a sot but are they just going to ignore us now? Puts me off betting on stats ever again
@OptaJoe if that marmoush SOT has been taken off then what is the reason for it ? It’s clearly an attempt at goal as there are no team mates in the box. It’s going on target and the keeper has made a clear save to stop it. Both the save and SOT should be given.
@OptaSTATS Sam surridge got 3rd shot in Cincinnati vs Nashville game last night just after half time. It got given then taken off. The reff awarded a corner when the defender didn’t touch it but this doesn’t take away the fact that he shot the ball. He should end on 4 shots.

@AFC_LT08@OptaJoe I’m mad too but the answer to why it hasn’t been given as a SOT is because the referee gave a goal kick and so it doesn’t count. What a loads of bull
