‘Monday - Swaledale Sunset’ is a typical Peter Brook portrayal of a late, winter afternoon, the low light reducing the intricate pattern of drystone walls to little more than black lines in the snow, itself still illuminated by the setting sun. (Photo credit: The Smithy Gallery)
Ne'er cast a clout till May be out 🥶 This was Whitaside Moor after a snowsquall yesterday, taken by Ranger Lizzie. The Moor is high up above #Swaledale and #Wensleydale.

Morning everyone hope you are well. Not only am I blessed to live in the Lake District. The Yorkshire Dales is only a short drive. And who doesn't love a red phone box. Swaledale. Have a great day. #yorkshiredales@yorkshire_dales
This is Thwaite in the Yorkshire Dales. Drove up there yesterday to get more info for a painting of the view to the left of this one. I think I can pull it off!

The Swaledale farming film & photography festival photography exhibition has moved to The Station at Richmond featuring work from Joanne Coates, Juliet Kolttrup, Lucy Saggers, John Bentley & myself. Some superb work on show #YorkshireDales#swaledale
‘Monday - Swaledale Sunset’ with Peter Brook and Shep on the fells behind Reeth on a winter’s afternoon might well appear a tad different today, the area around the popular village no doubt thronged with visitors enjoying the early summer sunshine. (Photo credit: @smithygallery)
Bluebells at Hartlakes, #Swaledale#YorkshireDales. Prompted by a few people Polly and I headed down this evening. Luckily the sun popped its head out for a brief moment.
It’s said that #farming is a way of life rather than a job.
James Metcalfe is captured here in #Swaledale with his loyal sheepdogs, feeding his sheep with silage stored from haytime to feed the sheep in winter. Out smiling, whatever the weather!

Kisdon Drifts. Some photographers like sculptured sand dunes, others love the patterns on a beach. For me its snow drifts. Each is one off, never to be seen again, as soon as they appear they're gone. These two, from yesterday, I think, are special. #Swaledale#YorkshireDales
Stunning winter day on Kisdon. The sun was warm and the air still, a perfect winter's walking day. A little too much blue sky for my liking, but you can't have everything! #Swaledale#YorkshireDales.
