One of the most common causes is BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo), where tiny crystals in the inner ear become dislodged and disrupt normal signals to the brain.
On Tuesday, June 3rd, 2025:
•Engage with ONE patient, colleague, or individual by asking, “What matters to you today?”
•Listen attentively to their answer.
•Do your best to honor their request, or make a note for follow-up if necessary.
•DO: Act based on what you hear. This doesn’t always require grand gestures; the small acts often make a difference.
•Your WMTY Day Mission:
•*Just One Conversation on June 3rd!
•LISTEN: Make a genuine effort to hear the responses. Pay close attention to verbal and non-verbal signals, and strive to grasp the deeper meaning behind the words.
ASK: Move beyond the simple question, “What’s the matter?” Instead, pose open-ended inquiries such as:
•“What matters to you today?”
•“What’s most important for you to gain from this [visit/stay]?”
•“How can I assist you in feeling comfortable and safe?”
This day is dedicated to transcending clinical checklists to truly grasp what matters to the individuals we support, focusing on their perspectives. WMTY Day emphasizes the power of simple actions that lead to significant change.

On National Donate Life Blue & Green Day (Friday April 12th), we encourage everyone to wear blue and green and to engage in sharing the Donate Life message and promoting the importance of registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor!
#CottageHospital#Donatelife
April is Donate Life Month and Cottage Hospital would like to raise awareness of the growing need for donors. More than 100,000 Americans are currently in need of an organ transplant and doctors say the waiting list is growing by the hour.
Afterwards Bill Taxter, one of the Cottage Hospital Board Trustees helped raise our Donate Life flag followed by some goodies prepared by our dietary staff!
