@jrwheatl22 Trying to develop a gotcha moment from mask studies out of context is counterproductive to the goal of saving lives during what is a very real pandemic. Mask wearing was never intended to be the krypton for COVID-19. It’s just pretty darn easy for everyone to do.

@jrwheatl22 I think people are led astray by looking for absolutes. There are over 330 million people in the USA that the CDC has to care for. They must decide on courses of actions suitable for most citizens. An ideal solution is zero transmission. Is that realistic? Absolutely not....

@jrwheatl22 Nice try. The results of those studies, while true, are repeatedly taken out of context and are a misrepresentation of the CDC’s position on the benefits of mask use in combination with other best practices.

@jrwheatl22 This is a convo for a whole other day -and I suggest this as an independent- but such a system would be devastating for one particular party for the foreseeable future. Let’s be honest, it’s the last thing the Republican Party, in its current form (whatever that is) would want.

@jrwheatl22 I just think that this isn’t a precedent. Which is amazing during these “unprecedented times”. These systems already exist and we already depend on them. This is nothing new. The current situation suggests we use what we’ve got.
