We are deeply outraged by the passing of the new Rwanda Bill, which permits the UK to deport asylum-seekers to a country declared unsafe by the Supreme Court. This cruel legislation is unacceptable, and we firmly oppose it.
REMINDER: Cruel policies don't stop people from seeking safety
On the day the Rwanda bill has passed, 5 human beings, with hopes & dreams, have died on their journey to rebuild their lives.
New cruel laws won't deter people fleeing war, torture, & persecution.

Now that the shameful #RwandaBill has passed, it's time to do all that we can to stop the flights from taking off.
Email Jet2 asking them to take a stand and urge AirTanker to not profit from the suffering of people seeking asylum.

Our first series looks at what counts as qualitative research, and how we can learn from different perspectives. First up, Ruth Cigman talks about the philosophical concept of cherishing, and what we can learn from this in #qualitativeresearch
Our founder member, Ruth, was a guest on a podcast hosted by The Qualitative Applied Health Research Centre (QUAHRC). She talked about the importance of practical applications of philosophy, its connection to peopleโs lives, and the origins of the Cotton Tree Trust. Check it out!
Our new podcast, the Qualitative Open Mic, is now live!
This podcast asks why we do qualitative research, how do we do it well, and how it can be effectively applied.

Art has always been a form of expression and healing. It is a powerful tool for those who cannot safely return to their homes to tell their stories.
Here is an artwork by a Cotton Tree asylum seeker:
Who you are and how you want others to describe you are matters of great importance in the world today. We asked our members how they feel about the world "asylum seeker". Check out our newest blog to learn more: https://t.co/MVXgi9DB4z

Denying people the human right to claim asylum. Forcibly removing people to Rwanda. Locking people up simply for seeking safety.
The cruel #RefugeeBanBill does not represent us. It's time for a fair, compassionate & workable asylum system. Who's with us?

'Given the proportion granted the right to remain stands at 76%, it should be clear that most who reach the UK come as refugees.'
