This is a good breakdown. "The only thing FIFA got wrong is not immediately suspending the red card after the match."
Balogun did not initiate contact. And when VAR was used, slow motion should have only been used on the point of contact, which came earlier from the B&H player.
Some dude who’s never left Burlington says Seattle sucks. But every single one of these soccer guys who have traveled all over the world and seen city after city say Seattle is amazing. I don’t know who to believe anymore.
Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby gets an injunction against the NCAA, with a district judge in Lubbock County, Texas ruling he showed he would have suffered “a probable, imminent, and irreparable injury” if not for the ruling. @PeteThamel’s story: https://t.co/r8hCFnrgDq
@sports8 WSU and OSU were left behind because of geography and media value, not competitive irrelevance. The Cougars were a better football program than half the teams that left over the last 8-10 years of the P12.
Good morning folks!
Quick update: I just got word that one of my worries is no more! It’s not cancer, and I get to keep both of my eyes — which is great because I enjoy them immensely!
THANK YOU GOD‼️🙏
PS- Thank you all for all the prayers & well wishes!
Much love.
The Athletic has a very strict code of conduct policy and editorial guidelines that are in lockstep w/ The Times.
Their top priorities are:
•Editorial Independence
•Credibility
•Avoiding conflicts of interest
That includes avoiding even the appearance of a conflict of interest in order to maintain credibility.
These are typically laid out in the employee handbook or in your contract.
I’m highlighting this because too many people are hung up on “the pictures aren’t evidence they slept together” no they don’t show them sleeping together but the pictures show the appearance of a conflict of interest for a journalist.
This is a violation of The Athletics Editorial Guidelines
It’s SOP for The Athletic to sideline a reporter and launch an internal investigation when something like this comes to light.
They need to determine whether or not there is an appearance of bias and if it alters the trust of the public.
It’s critical she is honest during this time as The Athletic is pressing for proof that they were there with a group of 6 as she previously stated.
The investigation will include:
•Coverage of the Patriots
•Time with ESPN/ Titans to determine if there is a pattern of a conflict of interest with Vrabel before she joined The Athletic
•The vetting of Ran Carthon
•Her reporting vs other insiders (this is very interesting to compare)
•The Morgan Moses error
They will look for:
Undisclosed bias, Favoritism in her scoops & post Vrabel firing coverage.
They will need to determine if her professional integrity was compromised by:
•Looking into communication logs
•Establishing a timeline for personal vs professional communication
•Finding out if the “Group of 6” exists
•Figuring out if she disclosed a “close personal relationship” with Vrabel to the editors
•Conducting interviews with witnesses/sources
This will or at least should be an extensive investigation and could take months. Her contract expires in Aug.
Once again thank you for coming to my TED Talk 🗣️
I hope some of you find the info useful!
