Enough is enough.
Today, I will announce my push for the establishment of the first ever Office of Gun Violence Prevention in the City of Buffalo.
We need to protect our city. Details will be announced later today. https://t.co/83xfpFHQ7P
Welcome to the Mayor’s Office, @Buffalo_Schools Riverside High School! It was such a pleasure to meet you all today alongside Masten District @CouncilWomanZE. Thank you for stopping by and sharing your energy and enthusiasm with us!
What a great morning it was in the Masten District with @CouncilWomanZE for her monthly Masten Stakeholders Meeting!
It was wonderful connecting with residents individually and talking with them about their vision for the community. I am looking forward to coming back soon!
Today, we took a big step in our fight against gun violence with the establishment of the Office of Gun Violence Prevention.
This isn’t just a response; it’s a promise to Buffalo. My full statement in post:
Today, Georgia reinstated a six-week abortion ban.
A threat to the rights of any woman affects us all.
Democratic Leader @RepJeffries joined me in Buffalo, alongside leaders and advocates, to call for codifying Roe v. Wade into law and protecting reproductive freedoms.
Happy #NationalLiteracyMonth! 📚 As Chair of the Education Committee, I’m taking some time to read for you all. One of my favorite books is “I Promise” by @KingJames, and I’m excited to share it with you!

Had the best day @CHSBuffalo Sisters of Charity Hospital for the Babies with Books Read-a-thon! Proud to donate books on behalf of @ZZairesBookClub.
Reading in the NICU boosts brain development, bonds families, and reduces stress. Happy to support this amazing cause!

Another mass shooting, this time at Apalachee High School in Georgia. As a mother who has faced this horror and Chairwoman of the Education Committee, I’m heartbroken. We need common sense gun reform and Offices of Gun Violence Prevention. Enough is enough.
My full statement ⬇️
Buffalo Councilwoman Zeneta Everhart spoke at this morning’s New York delegation breakfast about her fight against gun violence. Her story is powerful, and I’m so proud to see her leading and encouraging others to join her in such an important cause.
Please share: 1/3 of those who died from an opioid overdose are black residents and most involved cocaine.
Assume cocaine contains fentanyl, which is deadly. Test your cocaine. Carry Narcan and never use alone.
Order fentanyl test strips and Narcan at https://t.co/E4kQ7JpcAT.
The New York State Delegation proudly endorses @KamalaHarris as the Democratic nominee for President.
We're going to finish the job Joe Biden started and send Trump packing in November.
The stakes of this election are incredibly high, and the choices before us are starkly clear.
Who better to confront a convicted felon than a seasoned prosecutor with a proven track record of upholding justice?
As a delegate, I’m with HER. @KamalaHarris
Unlike most of Western New York’s Democratic delegates, Buffalo Common Councilmember @ms_everhart has endorsed a candidate for president, throwing her weight behind Vice President Kamala Harris.
I commend @JoeBiden for putting people over politics and stepping out of the race.
With that being said, the future is female! As a delegate, I fully support @KamalaHarris as our party’s candidate to defeat Donald Trump.
If you want something done right, give it to a Woman!
.@Netroots_Nation 2024 is in the books!! Thank you to Kimberly Rubio who lost her daughter Lexi in the Uvalde, TX mass shooting and Tarria Stanley from @CJACTIONFUND for joining me. And shoutout to my brother Garnell Whitfield for pulling up and supporting.

Our NE Regional Manager, Tarria Stanley, moderated a panel centering survivors of gun violence who turned their pain into purpose: @CouncilWomanZE of Buffalo, and Kimberly Rubio of Uvalde.
