Yesterday was a hectic day as we mapped the remaining @CCCChiredziWest constituency ward 16,25 and 26. These were the hard to reach remote areas of the constituency. Many thanks goes to mkoma Tawe who dedicated himself to the process and moved from ward to ward doing the mapping.

Chiredzi West Zanu PF members brutally assault CCC member, Mr. Mupfumba..

Yesterday (12th August 2023), Chiredzi West Zanu-PF and Forever Associates of Zimbabwe (FAZ) members brutally assaulted Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) member, Mr. Elifanos Mupfumba.

He was assaulted at Mafodya Shops in Ward 16, Chiredzi West.

Mr. Mupfumba is the former councillor in Ward 18.

Zanu-PF and FAZ members beat Mr. Mupfumba with stones and other objects while he was putting up CCC campaign posters.

His head was injured along with other parts of his body.

He lost consciousness, and CCC members had to pour a lot of water to resuscitate him.

They (CCC members) rushed him to Colin Saunders, where he is currently admitted and receiving treatment, said Councillor Gilbert Mutubuki.

Councillor Mutubuki said, "We strongly condemn the assault on our CCC member by Chiredzi West Zanu PF and FAZ members a few days before the elections."

Councillor Mutubuki further stated, "We hope the police will arrest these Zanu PF and FAZ thugs who nearly killed Mr. Mupfumba."

If his condition deteriorates, he might be transferred to Harare.

Additionally, Zanu-PF and FAZ members smashed CCC vehicles, damaging windows.

Zanu PF and FAZ members have been assaulting CCC members, but police officers are not arresting them.

Darlington has now spent 67 days in jail.
