Summer Program offered by @limestoneDSB for students entering gr 4-6. Our goal is to develop numeracy and coding skills in an engaging environment. @GoslinK123
At #CountOnMeLDSB, we use concrete materials to build skill sets, rich tasks to develop communication and critical thinking, and experiences to share at home. #ldsb#math#iteachmath#mtbos @ontarioslp https://t.co/rTWdY23DKb
Is it magic? No, it is science! The domains are aligned so they are magnetic! Ms. Singh walked around to show all of the super excited students! They are still aligned and hung at the back of the class - will they still be attached on Monday? Will keep you posted! @LaSalle_LDSB
Our #numberTalk in #MTH1W.
What are two numbers that 1.785 might be between?
Slow, regular exposure to different numbers and the way they look and act near other numbers will normalize those numbers.
#NumberRecognition#infinityBetweenNumbers
(We stumbled along the way)
In #mth1w we practiced finding values between two rational values with numbers smaller than 1 and larger than 1. We noticed our strategy of building equivalent fractions created patterns. Furthered our discussion of number #density and #infinity. #LssPride
Our #numberTalk in #MTH1W.
Are their values between 0.45 and 0.5? What could the numbers be? How do you know?
What number set do these values belong in? #NumberRecognition#infinityBetweenNumbers
(I forgot to snap a photo, this is recreated)
Are you a 'Point Gather' or a 'Data Gather'? Final words from @pgliljedahl during his assessment breakout at

How we assess tells students our stories of what we value.
Do we value their whole story?

We can’t wait to see our @LaSalle_LDSB Gr.12 Knights for their end of year Grad celebration. Mr. Armstrong Ms. Kostovolos, Ms. Richarz , Ms. Hendry, Ms.Carroll , Ms.Anderson ,Mr.Conboy & all our staff have been working hard preparing for your 5 mins of fame! See you soon.
It’s actually easier for kids — from all socioeconomic backgrounds — to forget what they learned in math over the summer than it is for them to lose reading skills, but there are ways to combat the summer math slump. https://t.co/f6qYuxkVDv
@SprouleMrs I am grateful for having the pleasure to know you and witness your expertise in community building!
As for the math- I do love me some arrays and area models!
Love strategies that #GROW w/ you. Why is the area model for multiplication so key for Ss to understand? It grows to understanding how linear eqns multiply, becoming binomial multiplication or factored fm of a quadratic, which relates to many functions #mtbos#elemMath#ldsb
Thoroughly enjoy every conversation I have with @MathletePearce and @MrOrr_geek! Thanks for the opportunity to discuss the power and importance of diagnostics for every age of mathematician. #mtbos#iteachmath#diagnostics#math https://t.co/wLHLMF2U4v
