Counterpublic had a total budget of $4,221,476 for the three-year cycle. The total economic impact of Counterpublic 2023 is calculated to be $15,054,889. In total, Counterpublic generated $3.5 for every $1 raised.

Almost all the visitor survey respondents said they enjoyed their time and would recommend Counterpublic. 96% of participants agreed they enjoyed their time, and 96% agreed they would recommend Counterpublic.

Ahead of the 2023 edition, Counterpublic set an ambitious goal of 150,000 visitors to the exhibition. The exhibition’s total attendance exceeded expectations and was 27% higher than estimates with a total in person attendance of 190,284.
All data and context for this report is based on the information gathered from visitors, partners, participating artists, media, and key stakeholders, and is supplemented by organizational reflections.
