BC Wildfire has classified the Drought Hill wildfire has held. Updates have been made to the evacuation orders and alerts.
With all evacuation orders now lifted, the Emergency Support Services reception centre at the Peachland Community Centre will close today at noon.
As firefighters continue to mop up, residents should expect to see active burning from the wildfire, as well the regular movement of fire equipment. Residents who see fire activity outside expected areas should call *5555 to report a wildfire and 911 to report a fire within city limits.

Updates have been made to evacuation orders and alerts for the Drought Hill wildfire, with some properties remaining on evacuation order and others downgrading to alert.

A new evacuation alert for approximately 225 addresses has been issued due to the Drought Hill Wildfire currently burning between Peachland and West Kelowna.
The current evacuation order will remain in place for approximately 48 hours with emergency personnel reassessing the situation in the morning.

Municipal fire crews and BC Wildfire are working together on suppression of the fire. We will be giving further updates throughout the evening as to evacuation orders and activities.
