Hanging out at the other place these days 🦋

@CDhubh Thanks 🙂

Bit of help please folks!......for UK-based folk.

Insect splat on your cars this spring. Have you found it:

- Same as normal?
- Less than normal?
- More than normal?

If you could say what part of the country you're in that would be helpful too 🙂

THANKS!

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

@ne_henry Interesting. I've found the opposite here in Braemar. Hayfever much better than normal 🤔

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

@CubeSansa67 Hiya - thanks for the response. Could I ask whereabouts you were driving? Ta.

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

@CDhubh Thanks. Can I ask how frequently you've visited Scotland (and not seen this thing before) in recent years?

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

@gaejmckenzie The curse of a white car. I feel your pain 😉

All the volunteers in the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team would like to wish our supporters and followers a very merry and safe Christmas.
The photograph, taken by team member Paul Noble, was the winner of our 2024 photography competition.

@theiaincameron I plan on sticking my head in the freezer on Christmas morning, just so I can see some frost.

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

@Richard_Barron The idea was to approach it more holistically, like motorways with roads intersecting them. I’ll have to go back and see what it looks like and whether it works 😉

Looks like we'll make it to 14th December with the month running bang on my long term average. Expect that to lurch upwards in the next week, however. #Fife

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

@Richard_Barron I’m pretty sure the whole point was to remove old, surplus signs so that it wasn’t signage overload 😉

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

Ooo, just popped out for firewood and happened to see the best shooting star I've seen in ages! 😀 Very bright, maybe 2 or 3 seconds in duration. In the western sky.

‘Poorly performing scrubland’, whatever that is, seems to be a target in the new planning regulations 🙄 No surprise there. Pretty much every single planning application I reviewed for access/biodiversity impacts in my last job employed ‘scrub’ in a derogatory context.

@northall_justin Conditions overhead as good as it gets. Conditions underfoot……pretty ropey!

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

Surreal, spring-like conditions in the Cairngorms today. Warm, sunny and snowy......and not a breath of wind. Really didn't want to come down, but I hung around up high till after sunset 🙂

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

@Badgeraz The swings in temperature have caused problems for path work recently. -10C to 12C and back again.

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

@Badgeraz 😆

@RoostWeather 🎉👍

[Ben Dolphin 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿❄️ @CountrysideBen]

Just look at the Cairn Gorm anomaly.

[Dan Harris @RoostWeather]

Today's (11th December) maximum temperatures and anomalies (compared to '91-'20 average) from the 03xxx SYNOP sites.

#Hawarden Airport was the warmest location with a max #temperature of 12.4C.
