This is actually insane
American booked a Disney World vacation for his family
“I want to explain to you how insane these prices are”
“A few weeks ago, I just flew my family, my entire family across the world for a ski vacation to Courchevel, France — the largest ski area in the world. Flew them across the world, got them new gear for snowboarding, private lessons. Stayed in five-star hotels, ate at amazing restaurants, 2 of them Michelin Star restaurants, all of that in France and Switzerland
Half the price of taking my family to Disney World and Universal Studios for five days”
“Really think about that for a second. You can take your family to Europe, fly business class, eat in Michelin star restaurants, five-star hotels for half the price than Disney World.”
Sports should absolutely be physically and mentally uncomfortable.
Adversity should be age appropriate but there absolutely will be adversity.
Kids can only become resilient humans by overcoming that discomfort and adversity.
Stop trying to protect your kid from discomfort.
There’s a special place in hell for officials who say “oh you’ve done nothing all game…” and a kid gets rocked on the last play and ends up with a concussion.
Athletic Training Hot Take: There's no reason an AT needs to work more than 40 hours a week. If you can't figure out a reasonable schedule for an AT then you need to hire more help.
Amazing how his training looks similar to football, baseball, & basketball training. It's almost like building strength, mobility, and power gives a skilled athlete more strength, mobility, and power to use with their skillset.
Parents your 13-18 YO should be able to manage their own schedule and fueling with your support 👇
Expect your teen to manage his/her schedule and his snacking so they can arrive at dinner on time and hungry.
Teach your kids to take responsibility for eating 3 meals a day and a snack right after school/before training and games.
Let him find his own ways with food away from home: what to eat, how much to eat, how to get what he needs.
Discuss his nutrition-management strategies with your children; consider what works and what doesn’t.
Build your child’s food-management skills for after they leave the house: meal planning, food preparation, shopping, storage, sanitation.
Nutrition is a life skill. Your kid is never too young to learn how to feed and fuel themselves for life.
@Carrie_Lou_B I’m going to be honest, my compassion fatigue is so far gone that helping people is the last thing I wanna do at the moment.
I don’t mean it in a bad way just for like I’m just so damn tired.

"Go where you're appreciated," is not the right piece of advice anymore. You can be appreciated by an entire community, but if it doesn't pay the bills and costs you your mental health, it's not the right place.
Dear New AT Grads: If a company tries to tell you that you will work more in football season or that your schedule lightens up in the spring: they either are 1. Lying to you or 2. Dont actually have a clue what your job is. Never have I ever had a week in the fall look like this.
