The Courtmacsherry All Weather RNLI Lifeboat "Val Adnams" was called out at 11.35 am today Sunday to go to the immediate aid of a surfer who had got into difficulties in an offshore wind, in difficult sea conditions off Garrettstown beach in West Cork
#WaterSafetyIreland have today awarded “#JustinTime” rescue awards to Michael and Amy Walsh from Butlerstown who alerted the Rescue Authorities on the evening of 25th Feb 2021, when they noticed a garment near the slipway at Dunworley Beach in West Cork, while out walking.

The Courtmacsherry All Weather RNLI Lifeboat "Val Adnams" was called out at 10.15 pm last night (Sunday) to go to the aid of a 35 foot Yacht which sought assistance as it got into difficulties off Dunworley Head in Clonakilty Bay.
The Lifeboat then proceeded to tow the Yacht at low speed under the cover of darkness and in dense fog to the safe surrounds of Kinsale Harbour and was successfully berthed at the Dock Marina at 2.30 am.

It was another symbolic occasion at the Courtmacsherry RNLI Lifeboat Station on Sunday as the RNLI initiative of having a “Connecting our Communities” scroll visit every possible region in the UK and Ireland, reached Courtmacsherry.
Having commenced in Westminster on the 4th March, this was the 219th visit and Chris Smith of the RNLI explained to all the significance of this visit to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the RNLI, before it was signed by Station representatives Brian O Dwyer from Operations,

What a day in @Courtmacsherry today. Thanks a million to a record participation of 485 walkers plus 95 helpers making it a total of 580 persons involved today. It was some commitment by so many.

It was great to get the essential water safety messages across to 180 participants at the @BarryroeGAAClub Cul Camp today. Courtmacsherry Lifeboat Station we're delighted to team up with members of the @SevenHeads/OldHeadCoastGuard team every August at #CulCamp
Proud we are to have our All Weather Shannon Class Lifeboat the “Val Adnams” slipping its mooring in the background. It’s a special “One Moment – One Crew” occasion across all the RNLI Lifeboat Stations in the UK and Ireland.
