Trying to figure out why Republicans think @KamalaHarris never passed the bar exam - she’s a former CA Attorney General. A position that requires bar passage. She passed on her second attempt - that doesn’t make her any less qualified as an attorney. She passed. #kamalaharris
If you're nervous about making up law on the essays yesterday because you didn't remember a rule, it's worth considering: if it's ok for the Supreme Court to do it, then it's ok for you.
A true uniform (or standardized) test as the UBE purports to be would have a uniform passing score. When states commit to this exam, they should commit to that as well. What that score should be is more subjective, but I'd put it at 260. If it's been accepted by the test makers
A reminder that the next time law school graduates will be eligible to take the exam required for them to obtain employment as a lawyer is in 7 months.
Non law people: ^ that’s not a typo. 7 months. As in more than 1/2 a year.
And then a 2nd reminder that that’s insane.
Post-bar exam life is really just feeling your absolute worst physically, mentally, & emotionally while refusing to answer numerous texts from people asking if you’re okay/alive or telling you that they’re “sure” that you did great (lies)
I have spent over 5k on bar prep and overall financial support for my daughter who takes the bar exam in a few days. She understands how fortunate she is.
Anyone who says the bar is a test of competency doesn’t understand the bar exam industry. It is NOT an equal playing field.
We've all seen the questions that end with a recording statute. A trick:
You see the word notice but not the word first: notice statute.
You see the word first, but not the word notice: race statute.
You see both words: race-notice statute.
Doesn't hurt to have some tricks.
The quickest way to abolish the bar exam is to make licensed attorneys have to retake it every few yrs to maintain their license. The mutiny and outcry from hundreds of thousands of lawyers would be more overwhelming than those lobbying to keep the $30 billion dollar industry.
