@WaningSupreme —so much more than I could have hoped for.”
The girl couldn’t seem to stop talking at this point, excitement bubbling out of her.
“Can we go right now, Mom? We can go, and then we’ll go do something fun!”
@WaningSupreme —“Are you sure you’re feeling okay enough to handle an afternoon out?
You seemed pretty out of it upstairs… We can always reschedule if we need to.”
@WaningSupreme “Of course I’m ready, let’s do it!”
Zoe couldn’t imagine anything she wanted more in this moment, than to be able to call Cordelia her mother.
Just the thought, that all that was left was to drop off some simple paperwork.
“You’ll be my mother, soon. Officially! This is,—
@WaningSupreme Zoe began to smile, instantly knowing that she would agree.
Cordelia wanted her, wanted to /keep/ her, as her own.
Zoe would finally have a real family again, “of course I want that! You’ve been a mom to me since I was little.
It only makes sense, that we would make it—
@WaningSupreme “Yes, it makes perfect sense.”
Zoe says, now almost certain of where this conversation was going.
“After all the academy has to be able to care for the girls, it only makes sense that the school adopts them.”
Which was what had happened with her, all those years ago when—
@WaningSupreme Zoe’s gaze moved from the pond, over to Cordelia.
Eyes searching as the woman spoke of a question, she seemingly had been holding back for awhile.
“Sure, I mean… What’s up?”
She was curious, excited even about where this could go.
Where their life would end up with one—
@WaningSupreme —it was making Zoe want to just blurt out that Cordelia should just tell her already!
She kept her patience about her though, as they settled on a bench near the pond.
“You know, I’d never seen a duck outside of a zoo until I came here.”
@WaningSupreme Zoe ate her ice cream quietly, as she lead the way over to the pond.
A contented smile on her face, as they enjoyed the calm afternoon out of the house.
Although the child could tell her Supreme was itching to tell her something, she seemed nervous.
More so than usual, and—
@WaningSupreme —of the little girls at home, and how much she /adored/ getting to play with and teach them new things.
“We should bring the girls here sometime,” Zoe mentions softly.
@WaningSupreme —plain chocolate ice cream, which had always been her favorite.
Then waiting for the woman to order her own as well, she glanced around the park.
Spotting the little playground, filled with small children squealing and running as they all played together.
It reminded her—
@WaningSupreme —sigh pushes those thoughts away.
And she nods a bit, giving the woman a smile.
“Sounds like a good plan to me, ice cream and the ducks!”
It was the most normal afternoon they’d had in a good, long while.
@WaningSupreme “Is this before or after you throw up on me?”
Zoe asks sarcastically, knowing full well that Delia wasn’t feeling her best.
And she’d seen the way the woman had looked that morning, it worried the young girl.
The Supreme wasn’t supposed to be able to get sick…
A quiet—
@WaningSupreme —affection from her mother figure, as they left the grounds of the Mansion.
And all the loud, fussy girls behind. Even if only for a few hours.
@WaningSupreme Zoe followed the woman’s lead, nodding as they went for the door.
Almost as if the young teen were determined to get out of the mansion, before anything could change Cordelia’s mind.
The brunette held her hand out to the Supreme, silently asking for the small show of—
@WaningSupreme Zoe’s head popped out of the dining room, where she’d been wrangling the little ones.
“Ready? I’m so ready, please save me!”
The brunette dashes out of the room, as Myrtle walks by and goes to take her place.
She rushes up to Cordelia with a hesitant little smile.—
@WaningSupreme —anymore.
What with so many of the older girls taking over.
“Now go, little Miss was bursting with excitement when I left her downstairs.”
@WaningSupreme “No, no. I’ll teach the classes, it’ll help pass the time till you get back anyway.”
She’d be too focused to sit and worry constantly about Delia being out, while feeling so sick.
It would give her something to do, and she didn’t get to teach the classes all that often—
