Trying to get ahead of this rumor that's going around: they did NOT get rid of telehealth in the continuing resolution!!

So you may be hearing it from advocacy groups, at doctors office, wherever, all of it is scaremongering. It would equally true to say that the entire funding for the government ends in September. It's ridiculous. But the truth doesn't sound nearly as frightening: the current CR ends in September.

Oh gosh! Medicare Advantage is such a scam!! Please don't let anyone you love sign up for Medicare Advantage - they are incentivized to not treat people because they get a lump sum payment for each patient on the plan and get to keep all the money that is left over at years' end!

Oooh, you are going to want to read and share this! You know how I tell anyone who will listen "Don't EVER sign up for Medicare Advantage"? Well, I just updated my article "Medicare Explained in Plain English & How and Where to Sign Up for Medicare" to include the information about how Medicare Advantage insurers get a *lump sum payment* (your tax dollars) for each patient who signs up with them, against which the insurer bills for any treatments during the year, AND THEY GET TO KEEP WHATEVER IS LEFTOVER!! So is it any wonder that a) Medicare Advantage plans so routinely deny coverage, and, moreover, b) Medicare Advantage providers pocketed *billions* of dollars for conditions that not only had not been treated, but for conditions that *couldn't have even existed*! (Examples are in the article, with sources cited.) Medicare Advantage insurers are perpetrating massive insurance fraud, on your tax dollars! Again, *this* is (at least in part) why there are so many denials of service by Medicare Advantage insurers - they are incentivized to NOT treat you, so they can keep more of the lump sum payment that they got for you!
