An article I read said he didn't know if he was playing the character right as you can't see a lot of emotion under the mask. The director said 'Your eyes say it all. Keep being you.'

@OperatorDrewski I love that Helldivers 2 has a helmet that is very much looking like that cover. FO:NV just felt so correct for a Fallout game. Hell even the DLC was good and expanded on so much.
