“C’mon Jerry, you traded away our 789th pick. Same ole Jerry, same ole Cowboys.”
Man some of y’all should go crack open a beer or have a drink and settle tf down, a LOT!
There should be no questions about tackle Broderick Jones' health. He's played in every preseason game for the Steelers and started Thursday's game at Buffalo playing 37 snaps.
I definitely agree that the Broderick Jones move (even if most are not pumped about the compensation) shows the Cowboys are no longer living with sunk cost fallacies.
THAT is a huge improvement and is definitely worth celebrating.
The deal tho.
Run down on Broderick Jones for Dallas people:
- Steelers have played / started him at RT and LT over his career, 38 starts. Better at LT than RT for sure.
- Has looked rough this preseason. Played both sides. Coming off neck surgery and still trying to get back to ideal playing weight
- Jolly guy. He is a great locker room vibes guy who is always happy around the facility. Loved by teammates.
- Athletic player. Has some bad habits (waist-bending, crossing feet, wide hands, etc.) that get him into trouble. Good demeanor in the run game.
- Was at best the swing tackle for the Steelers.
Broderick Jones trade is cool for Dallas. Better than Thomas and Shelton. It'd be scary to play either, with Shelton being absolutely unplayable at this point.
If all goes to plan, the Steelers will suck and Dallas will be good so the pick swap distance might not be bad.
Long story short, Dallas HAD to do something at swing tackle. And here we are!
From all Steelers fans, thank you Broderick Jones
45 games. 38 starts. 1,073 offensive snaps in 2024. Just 2 penalties and 4 sacks allowed as a rookie, then only 1 penalty across 643 snaps in 2025.
38 starts , former first round pick, coming off neck surgery.
Doesn't have all his weight and strength back. Likeable, great locker room guy.
a huge disappointment in pittsburgh but upgrade as a backup tackle in dallas
still has a ton of upside as a former first-round pick.
*played with george pickens at georgia
As part of the compensation for Broderick Jones. The Cowboys are sending a third and sixth round picks to the Steelers. Dallas gets Jones and a fourth rounder.
Highest offensive grade among rookie WR this preseason
