I worked for a year as a bank teller after high school and before university (I needed to make $ to actually pay for university) & that experience was invaluable.
Working alongside adults with mortgages & kids & stress taught 18 yr old me a LOT about the real world.
I agree with this. I headed off to university about a week after turning 18. In hindsight, not having any time to work or learn about adulting before being thrown in to the first year of undergrad wasn’t the best idea.
