Last weekend was the 20th annual Bangor Walk to Defeat ALS! This year's walk was "choose your own location" so Team Neuromusculomics got together at Lamoine Beach Park for a walk with gorgeous views of Mount Desert Narrows ๐คฉ
Our new paper is in Nature Communications!
"NEMF mutations that impair ribosome-associated quality control are associated with neuromuscular disease" was an international collaborative effort spanning work in yeast, mice, and human patients.
Check it out!

We've raised just over $1000 so far this year for the Northern New England chapter of the @alsassociation! Even though the walk is over, the fundraising isn't! If you'd like to donate to Team Neuromusculomics, check out the link below:

This symposium looks so cool!
Plus, it just so happens to feature a poster by Katie Stieber, a stand-out @GSBSE_UMaine grad student that rotated in our lab a few years ago!
Please check out this awesome symposium! There is still time to register! Also peep that author list, you may see a familiar name ๐๐๐

Finishing up a stack of Mount Desert Island prints to send to generous supporters of Team Neuromusculomics and the Northern New England Chapter of the ALS Association.
We've raised $500 so far! Let's keep it rolling.
Head to https://t.co/zUFHC1ZfTc to donate. $15 for a print!
If you decide to donate enough for a print, please DM me with a screenshot of your donation receipt along with your address. I'll send them anywhere -- worldwide! Let's see how many different places we can send a little bit of MDI to ๐๐๐
Last year Team Neuromusculomics raised > $1000 for the @alsassociation.
This year we're looking to go even bigger๐ช
If you donate at least $15 to our #WalkToDefeatALS team, I'll send you a homemade MDI print!

Our PhD student, Sarah, earned first place in a state-wide competition to quickly and concisely explain her research!
Congratulations Sarah, we're so proud of you!! ๐ช๐ฅณ
7 years ago, at my PhD Graduation, my Advisor gave me this picture of my last days in grad school grading papers, father-ing and finishing up my Thesis. His point was that Grad school had successfully built into me some level of multi-tasking that would be vital for success ๐ค๐
Pete's advocacy for ALS awareness has had amazing, widespread, long-lasting effects for ALS patients, caregivers, and researchers. His legacy will live on. #StrikeOutALS
