“I’m thinking you might enjoy Moby-Dick. It’s a story about how humans continually underestimate other life-forms. At their peril.” Protagonist to her dog in Chemistry Lessons by Bonnie Garmus. #mobydicktogether#apstogether#chemistrylessons#melville
@comes_aTime Jab at prep school grads at Amherst? Like Holden Caulfield: “…he went to Andover. Big, big deal.” No one referring to the school would use 3 words. It’s P.A. to locals/townies and Andover to everyone else. #infinitejesttogether
Thinking about DFW saying to his editor that all errors are intentional and how arrogant that must have sounded… but how exacting he was with the “mistakes.”#infinitejesttogether
@JerryCraft 3rd year teaching New Kid. 8th time reread. A 6th grader today: “Have you ever noticed this story going on in the background with these characters who we don’t ever meet? It’s such a great reminder that everyone around us has their own story going on.” 🤯
@annamomi@TheAtlantic I read it aloud to my children a couple of years ago and was blown away - not what I was expecting! A permanent catchphrase in our house is “Be quiet, you good for nothing croaking cricket!”
I ended up being quite moved by the book - after initially dismissing it as too show offy/too white & male. I think our numbers dwindled(?), but a good sized group all these months later! Well done all! #infinitejesttogether
