Cozy Powell is one of the most prolific drummers in the business. His CV has stints as a fully paid up member of Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Brian May, Jeff Beck...
Song 286/365 on my #365songs list - "All the Way from Memphis" by @DrBrianMay
Mott the Hoople cover that I didn't know was a cover at first. Has a Sabbath connection - Tyr's rhythm section (Cozy Powell & Neil Murray). One of my fav tracks from this LP.

Back in 1997, Cozy Powell called me and asked me about doing a website for him. I did, and then he died less than a year later. I've had control of his online stuff since then. Until today - I've xferred control of Twitter/FB/domain to his estate management.
Miss ya Cozy.
One of the jovial moments with @cozypowelldrums at the Forbidden writing sessions :) At this point we were all in quite high spirits!... Cozy was always laughing and joking with something. Great days. (From Tony Martin)

An excellent interview with Neil Murray. He talks about his time in Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Cozy's band, and several others..

Here's a fun vid I've never seen before. @CozyPowellDrums gets a pie in the face on the old ITV kids show Tiswas. From a 1981 appearance that also had @RobertPlant as well. @TiswasOnline

If he was still with us, Cozy Powell would be 73 today, having been born 29 Dec 1947. I had the pleasure of working with him in the 90s in the last year of his life.
Only saw him live once, on the Black Sabbath Forbidden tour.
Wish he was still here.
40 years ago today (Jul 28, 1979), the fourth overall album by Rainbow was released - βDown To Earthβ.
It was the first and last with Graham Bonnet, and the last with @CozyPowellDrums - often overlooked, but some good stuff on here.
Was going through some old emails, and found this gem sent to me. Itβs a cover of @cozypowelldrumsβ old track βDance with the Devilβ by @sina_drums.
Cozy would have loved it, Iβm sure.

Happy 30th to the Headless Cross album by @BlackSabbath. One of my favorites - the title track is epic, and I think βNightwingβ is a real underrated track. Originally released Apr 24, 1989, this album is way overdue for a remaster/re-release. Letβs make it happen, @TonyIommi!
Giving Headless Cross a spin today on its birthday.
By spin I donβt mean vinyl, as I donβt have that anymore. :)

Happy 30th to the "After the War" album by Gary Moore (Jan 25 89). An underrated album with some great stuff!

On this album is Cozy Powell & Bob Daisley. Also making appearances are one time Sabbath guys Don Airey & Laurence Cottle. Oh yeah, and Ozzy :)
A much cleaner version of Kill the King from 1977 with @OfficialRJDio and Ritchie Blackmore has turned up. Prime Rainbow song. Great quality.

5 April 2018. Today marks 20 years since Cozy Powell died. Here are pictures from today's event in Cirencester, Cozy's home town, where flowers were laid by Neil Murray at the Blue Plaque. Tony Martin and Don Airey were also there. Keep rocking, Cozy!

Here is a fun piece of video that is worth looking at today on the 20th anniversary of losing Cozy.
This is Cozy playing 400 separate drum kits in under 60 seconds. :)
