Gonna start something I've been wanting to do for a while.
As of tonight I am commencing my MCU rewatch. I'm going to aim to watch a movie every day or 2 and a show in a week.
This will be a thread with all my ratings and short reviews.🧵

I saw “Supergirl” in IMAX. It wasn’t a “superhero movie” about saving the Earth through self-sacrifice as “justice” confronts “evil.” It was a coming-of-age story about saving oneself, Kara, as she struggles with her own trauma. Structurally, it feels less like “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015), where everyone is driven purely by survival instinct beyond notions of good and evil, and more like The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), where heroes, villains, and scoundrels all converge.
Peter Safran has made a statement about ‘SUPERGIRL’ underperforming at the box office.
“While ‘Supergirl’ didn’t meet our box office expectations, it’s just one component of a broader, long-term strategy at DC Studios that we remain confident in.”

Craig Gillespie credits James Gunn with helping to choose the final needle drop for ‘SUPERGIRL’.
It was chosen in the final week of editing after trying 45 different songs.

Say what you want about this movie. The emotional moment at the end with the mum had me in tears like damn the rest of the movie did not match that moment
