🍺 Pairing tip! 🍺
Last week we talked about matching intensities, and the next step is thinking about the type of pairing you are looking for. Beers can be matched up in three ways:
➡️ complementary pairings
➡️ cutting pairings
➡️ contrasting pairings
These are the three C’s.
Complementary pairings are foods that complement each other – this means similar flavours that go well together. For example, you could try pairing a pale ale with a citrus flavour and aroma with a chicken dish that has a citrusy glaze.
Darker nights = darker beers. Our malty, caramelly, roasty Georgetown Brown ale is perfect for fall days & post larch hikes. It won the gold medal at the Canadian Brewing Awards last year, too. {flexes} #tootmyownhorn#darkbeers#fallbeers
It’s the weekend, so in the wise words of Sam Adams, “Let no man thirst for good beer.” 🍻
You know the drill ➡️ Scan your can, then give it a rating in Craft Hero 🙌

In the same way, a beer boasting subtle floral or fruity flavours would be overpowered by a spicy curry or decedent chocolate dessert.
Give this tip a try and let us know how it work for you.

Ever wonder what you should pair your favourite beer with? 🍺 Everyone talks about wine parings, but it’s rare to hear people talk beer pairings, so we’re going to change that.
Today’s tip: 🔥Match intensities🔥
When pairing beer with food, match the intensity of flavours so that one doesn’t overpower the other. For example, a stout with strong malt flavours will bulldoze delicate flavours, so should be paired with food that also has intense flavours.
