Craig Carver

NSU Demon Parent #18. Just trying to enjoy senior season and appreciate all the moments this spring.

[Dodgers Daily @dodger_daily]

Alex Makarewich dropped some bombs with his breaking ball last night and was pretty intimidating with his fastball, which has touched 99. I'm actually efforting to see if he's hit the 0 yet, so check back, I'll have an update on that hopefully.

FB nailed the outside corner to righties, he rode the top of the zone with it, he was "effectively wild", and was not afraid to back hitters off the plate, then get them out on the inner half.

His breaking ball fell off the table & he recorded Ks for ALL 3 of his outs.

It was "Must See" type stuff, because he threw a couple of purpose pitches, then threw some pretty dirty stuff to home plate. The control piece is still a focus, in terms of growth, which is typical at the Single A level, but the stuff pops, even watching it on video. #dodgers

A solid 9.6/10 on the sticker application from @calcarver11_. Handled the moment like he’s been there before. It’s what you hope to see from your veteran leaders.
