AFC Shirley 5-0 Locks Heath

A 5 star performance from the Owls against a very strong Locks Heath side.

We flew out the blocks scoring early when a brilliant Hughes corner found Richardson who flicked his header home. Relentless Owls pressure continued & we got our second on the half hour mark when a slick move saw Ormiston slip in Vidler to double the lead.

We continued to turn the screw & found a third just before the break when a Hunt long shot slipped through the hands of the keeper. 3-0 HT.

After the interval the pressure continued when sub Brogan came on & instantly made an impact. Heading in another perfect Hughes delivery to get the 4th.

A perfect display was rounded off by Brogan again. Vidler flicking on a ball which was dispatched perfectly by Brogans left foot.

MOTM: Craig Hunt who ran the show, but could have been anyone today.

AFC Shirley 3–2 Moneyfields Reserves

A fantastic start to the season with a solid performance against a very strong Moneyfields side. It was an even contest throughout, but we edged it by creating the better chances and showing great resilience.

Brogan opened the scoring early on, only for the visitors to respond immediately with an equaliser. Ormiston then produced a moment of magic, smashing home a stunning volley to restore our lead before the break.

A soft penalty allowed Moneyfields to level once more in the second half, but we responded brilliantly. Brogan rose highest to nod in the winner from a superb Ormiston corner, sealing a hard-fought victory.

A great win and a real statement against quality opposition. We go again Tuesday as we host Hedge End Rangers.

Re-Signing #9 | Craig Hunt 🦉

We’re absolutely thrilled to announce our ninth re-signing for the upcoming season, Craig Hunt!

Since joining the Owls from day one, Craig has been a vital part of the squad. He’s currently the club’s joint all-time top scorer and continues to impress both offensively and defensively. He’s a big personality both on and off the pitch!

A huge thank you to Sam Acharjee from ITS and Gordon from K&G Metalcraft for their continued support of Craig and the club, it’s massively appreciated! 🦉

Special Announcement 🦉

The Owls are proud to announce that we will be representing the Jordan Collett Memorial Foundation for the upcoming 2025/2026 season.

With the foundation being so close to the Skipper’s heart, as well as to past players and all who knew him, we are honoured to carry Jordan’s name with us, both on and off the pitch. In doing so, we ensure that his name lives on.

Our brand new away kit proudly features the Foundation’s logo, visible to all when we’re on our travels across the county. At home, a dedicated pitchside banner at Mansel Park will serve as a constant reminder of the incredible legacy Jordan has left behind.

In addition, we will be holding a dedicated home fixture in Jordan’s memory at Mansel Park, more details on this special occasion will be shared in due course.

We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jordan’s Dad Paul, Mum Marie, Tom and Eugene for making this partnership possible. We’re incredibly proud to be representing Jordan’s name and legacy this season. 🦉

What a moment for the Owls in our first season in Saturday football.

Throughly deserved after defeat on the first day we’ve been perfect ever since. 17 wins in a row!

We’re still waiting to hear our fate on what league we’ll be going into next season.

But for now we’re going to enjoy it long into the night!
