A friend at one of our major indie publishers tells me poetry sales are off there from '22 by almost 40%. Donors are keeping the press going. I worry -- is this a trend?
Two new poetry collections essential for me now -- GRAND TOUR by @athenek @fsgbooks (9/19) & EGGTOOTH @rudemechanical7@PressUnbound (9/5). I'll offer notes on both in the Sept/Oct edition of @On_The_Seawall (now an expanded bimonthly).
I had the honor of interviewing Jennifer Franklin for this month's @On_The_Seawall about her latest collection, IF SOME GOD SHAKES YOUR HOUSE (@FourWayBooks 2023). Thank you, @ronslate and Jennifer Franklin. #poetry#interview https://t.co/IKKEbJB9bW
Thanks, @sarahlyall, for your insights on DEATH WATCH in today's NYT Book Review. "A cerebral inquiry into the sheer nihilistic idiocy of the modern condition." Exactly.
"Stona Fitch is a first-rate novelist with the kind of edge and wicked cool sense of humor that readers love. We’ll explore his latest book, Death Watch, a gripping satire about materialist culture and more."

"You could catch a ton of codfish within sight of Cape Cod in the early 80s — which was why my shipmate Chris & I stepped aboard the 50-foot school-bus-yellow gillnetter late one winter afternoon": from "The Three Trials of Silent Lady" by @CraigMoodie / https://t.co/afBRgSbdcj
“REVOLVER is a novel that beautifully expresses the radiant power of music in our lives....an engaging tale that concludes in a fully unforeseen yet highly satisfying fashion.”- Portland Book Review.
