This photo takes me back to 2019.

No shop.
No shelves.
No team.

Just a dream, a Twitter account, an old logo, and a young woman who believed she could build something people would love.

Honestly, I didn’t know what I was doing most of the time. I learned as I went, making mistakes, arguing with delivery riders, handling rejected orders and delayed shipments, building relationships with suppliers, and figuring things out one customer, one order, and one lesson at a time.

Looking back, I smile at this version of myself. She was incredibly ambitious, and that ambition built the resilient woman I am today.

She had no idea that this little idea would grow into six beautiful years, employ incredible people, support local sports, serve thousands of customers, and become such a big part of my life.

If I could speak to her today, I would simply say:

“Keep going. It will all be worth it.”

Six years ago, I took a leap of faith and started @thesoleconnect1 with one simple dream: to help people find shoes they loved.

I had no idea just how much this business would shape me.

Over the years, we've celebrated milestones, survived setbacks, built friendships, supported local sports, employed amazing people, and served thousands of customers who chose to shop with a small Ugandan business.

Today, it's time for another leap.

After six incredible years, we've made the difficult decision to close our physical store and continue our journey online.
