Morning hunt over Great South Bay. Each spring, ospreys return to the Great South Bay from their wintering grounds in Central America to mate. The waters of the bay offer Atlantic Menhaden to satisfy the piscivores. #GreatSouthBay#FireIsland#longislandwildlife#leica#osprey
As I approached the Lighthouse I had this buck walking towards me. He then stopped 5’ away. After 30 sec. of staring at each other, he says, “Hey Dude, I am a magnificent eight point buck. Get your IPhone out, take my picture so I can move on…”. #FireIsland#GreatSouthBay
Calling it a “heat wave” may be a bit too much, but it sure felt warm for 40 degrees! The bright day brought people, kids, pets and surfers out to Robert Moses State Park and Fire Island #FireIsland#greatsouthbay#RobertMosesPark#longisland
The Great South Bay is in deep arctic freeze! I was told by a reliable source that it could be end of March before all the ice clears off. There is no bad weather, just the wrong jacket. Bundle up and get walking! #greatsouthbay#fireisland#outdoorphotography
The Great South Bay is looking Arctic for a few more days. Temperatures haven’t broken freezing in several days allowing for the Great South Bay to form ice. Only five more months for snow time to turn into sand days at the beaches! #greatsouthbay#longislandsouthshore#bayshore
Connetquot River State Park Preserve — a place where bald eagles nest, ospreys patrol the sky, and waterfowl gather by the hundreds. Nearly 3,500 acres, more than 50 miles of trail, and created to protect ecological, cultural, and historic resources. https://t.co/MSU0CUqGgR
