@QuintonLucasKC With all due respect Mayor, if you think this is the only or most egregious example of corruption among entities that operate on taxpayer dollars you are naive. I don’t think you are naive, and I think you are one of the few honest politicians in the KC area, but this is normal
@kansasfpv Now all this being said, the current lease is a train wreck, the 2024 proposal was “hold my beer” bad. On the surface this does not look nearly as bad. But I don’t trust Sherman and there can be a lot hidden. Like who pays if/when the revenue doesn’t cover the bond payment?
@kansasfpv I am not sure where you got the $60 million number, but will give you the benefit of the doubt. The previous year economic impact study showed a negative return on investment, as had every year since the last vote on this tax in 2006. So it took 20 years to show positive impact
@kansasfpv No it isn’t, the “economic impact” does not equal all the public money tha goes into the stadiums, even at the perfect storm of the Royals in the playoffs and Chiefs historic SB run.
@RoyalGroyperKC@QuintonLucasKC Have you seen that in writing? According to some reporting any shortfall of tax revenue to cover the bonds is on the taxpayers
@PeteMundo The money line, "According to the city, that portion is expected to be repaid through revenue generated". What they fail to realize is that has never happened and the taxpayers are always on the hook.
Not a loud storyline from this weekend, but an awesome & rare one: @PackWrestle's Isaac Trumble, who was undefeated on the year, and shut out #1 Yonger Bastida in the Finals to win his NCAA title, will be commissioned in the Army in May.
Having been a member of NC State's ROTC program, he will look to begin his career in the U.S. Army Infantry as a field artillery officer. Gotta love & appreciate that!
Thank you for your service, @isaactrumble_! 🫡🇺🇸
