@QcWynter I enjoy reading your tweets @QcWynter but I think, in the case, you’ve been taken in by some rage bait. @Broonjunior gives a clear explanation of why the operator licence was not revoked https://t.co/uTsHTkECQ2
@SebMilbank@HoraceSpellman9 A taxi operator’s licence is not the same as a taxi driver’s licence. You can have one without the other. This guy had both. The driver’s licence was immediately revoked and he’s never getting it back. He won’t be allowed an operator’s licence either.
@xandymccurdy@Eschentharrn@babybeginner No, you didn’t. You posted a screenshot of legislation that applies to England & Wales. It genuinely isn’t difficult to read before you post a screenshot - you’re halfway there by finding the piece of legislation. Master the reading bit and you might even stop being wrong.
@xandymccurdy@Eschentharrn@babybeginner The Scottish equivalent is contained in the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009 which came into force in 2010. Prior to that date, in Scots law, rape could only be committed by a man against a woman by inserting his penis in her vagina. Nothing else was, legally, rape. 2/2
@xandymccurdy@Eschentharrn@babybeginner Your screenshot is from the Sexual Offences Act 2003. Click the “Show Geographical Extent” box and you will see that it only applies in England & Wales. 1/2
@sean_f_scullion@SgtMajFrench Have been back numerous times over the years but it wasn’t until I went back as a major that I felt confident I was out of the range of the CSgts and Sgt Majs!!
@CrimeGirI My favourite tactic, when faced with a “l’m not John Smith” (because his name is a legal fiction or the likes 🙄), is to invite the sheriff to find that the defender is absent and, accordingly, to grant decree by default. Amazing how often John Smith is suddenly present in court!
@PresidentSsc I have a similar conversation on a regular basis!
Me to client: You will incur a court fee when I lodge the Record.
Client: Do you mean Record?
Me: No, Record
Client: Record…as in a vinyl LP?
Me: No, Record as in….Record!

@jimrobottom “No plan of operations extends with any certainty beyond the first contact with the main hostile force” - Field Marshall Helmuth von Moltke (often quoted as “No plan survives first contact with the enemy”)
Still best to have a plan that can be adapted to the changing situation!
